Organised Labour has halted its nationwide strike, which commenced on July 15, 2024, protesting the sale of 60% of SSNIT shares in four hotels.

The decision follows SSNIT’s communication on July 12, 2024, terminating the planned sale to Rock City Hotel, owned by Bryan Acheampong.

Speaking at an urgent meeting in Accra, Dr Yaw Baah, Secretary General of the Trades Union Congress, announced the end of the strike and urged workers to return on July 16, 2024. He disclosed that Organised Labour has given SSNIT a month to address pension management concerns, cautioning of further action if the issues remain unresolved.

Dr Baah expressed appreciation to Ghana’s workforce and Labour groups for their solidarity during the strike.
