KRC Genk forward Joseph Paintsil has expressed his admiration and desire to play in the English Premier League ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Ghana winger enjoyed a remarkable season, showcasing his talent by scoring 18 goals and providing 14 assists. His outstanding contributions played a significant role in Genk’s strong campaign, as they came close to winning the Belgian league and secured a spot in the Champions League for next season.

Even before the season concluded, rumours started circulating about Paintsil’s potential departure from Belgium, with several Premier League clubs expressing their interest. Brentford, Fulham, and Brighton and Hove Albion have emerged as notable suitors, all vying to acquire the services of this exceptional and in-form attacker.

The Premier League has undoubtedly become one of the most captivating leagues in the world in recent years, attracting top players from various nations. Given his close attention to the Premier League, Paintsil shares the desire of experiencing the league firsthand.

“Every professional footballer will love to play in the English Premier League. That’s the best competition in Europe. I will be looking forward to being taken and representing one of the teams in England,” he said.

“But it’s football and this is the duty of the agent. For me, I’ve already done what I’m supposed to do. So I will just leave it for my agent and the club to decide.

“I will be really happy if teams in England approach and take my best moments and I also show the world and England that I’m capable of giving 100% commitment to whichever club I join.

Paintsil will soon join Chris Hughton’s men in camp as the Black Stars prepare ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Madagascar on June 18, 2023.
