Nana Obiri Boahen, a private legal practitioner, has petitioned the government to move Assembly Members on a full-time payroll so they can be paid for their work.

Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen expressed his sadness about the disregard of the Assembly members and unit committee members, who drive growth in the surrounding districts.

Speaking in an interview he declared, “Members of the Assembly should have adequate resources, receive a monthly salary, attend monthly meetings, and receive travel reimbursements. At the very least, they should be given motorbikes.”

He stressed that the issue facing Ghana will be resolved if the Assembly members receive attention.

He said that the Assembly members need to be assigned property rate duties.

Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen said that Assembly members are better qualified than Parliamentarians and that they make a significant contribution to the growth of the communities.
