Majority Leader, Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has backed the proposal by the Electoral Commission to change the date for the general election from December 7 to November 7.

According to Hon. Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the date for the general election and swearing-in of the President-elect and MPs elect are too close.

Speaking on the Ama Ghana Morning Show on Time FM 97.7MHz in Kumasi, he explained that when there is a run-off, things will be done in a hurry and it will distract the process.

“It would be a good decision to change the election date,” he told Nana Kwabena Ampratwum.
