It was a colourful moment when the Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) His Excellency Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia surprisingly attended Ing Kwabena Agyei Agyepong’s 24th December Christmas night party.

 

Ing Kwabena Agyei Agyepong and Dr Bawumia can be seen engaging in friendly and joyful interactions indicating a strong bond between them.

The cordial relationship between the duo is growing steadily as the NPP prepares to break the 8 in 2024 with Dr Bawumia.

The alliance between Bawumia and Ing Kwabena Agyei Agyepong has sent shockwaves throughout the political landscape, as Ing Kwabena Agyei Agyepong is a well-respected figure within the party and a former presidential candidate aspirant.

It will be recalled that Ing Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, one of the ten aspirants in the NPP’s special electoral college elections, declared his support for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s presidential bid.

The former General Secretary of the ruling party joined Bawumia’s campaign team, sparking speculation about the Vice President’s chances of becoming the next President of Ghana.

Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia four days after winning the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flag bearer for Election 2024, paid a strategic visit to Ing Kwabena Agyei Agyepong in Accra.

Joined by his team, the Vice President and Ing Kwabena Agyei Agyepong discussed issues of mutual interest as part of the campaign towards Election 2024 aimed at ensuring that the NPP emerges victorious.

Ing Kwabena Agyei Agyepong was spotted with Dr Bawumia during the Vice President’s visit to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) graduation ceremony.

This endorsement comes on the heels of a recent meeting between Bawumia, his wife Mrs Samira Bawumia, and Agyepong.

The meeting took place in Asokore Mampong in the Ashanti Region, where they attended a church service to commemorate the anniversary of Ing Kwabena Agyei Agyepong’s late parent.

 

Ing Kwabena Agyei Agyepong’s support for Dr Bawumia could potentially sway the opinions of many party members and voters ahead of the upcoming presidential elections.

With this endorsement, Bawumia’s campaign team is expected to gain momentum and attract more supporters.

Ing Kwabena Agyei Agyepong extensive political experience and his connection to the previous NPP administration under John Agyekum Kufuor make him a valuable asset to Bawumia’s bid for the presidency.
