President Akufo-Addo Orders Release of GH¢1.5 Billion to Customers Affected by Banking Sector Clean-up1 min read
Finance Minister Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam announced at a UK Town Hall meeting that the government will disburse GH¢1.5 billion to customers affected by the banking sector clean-up between now and October.
He acknowledged that while the government shouldn’t be held responsible for individual investment decisions, mistakes were made and people were not well-informed, leading to significant suffering and even loss of life.
Dr. Adam emphasized that the government is taking a compassionate approach, having already provided an initial bailout and now directing an additional release of funds to support those affected.
The move aims to mitigate the impact of the clean-up and provide relief to those who have suffered losses.
