Respect Our King! Asanteman Youth Demand Accountability from Media General and Chiefs1 min read
The Asanteman Youth for Cultural Development held a powerful press conference today, demanding respect for the Asante Kingdom and their leader, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
Expressing their outrage over perceived targeted attacks, the youth group emphasized their intolerance for any disrespect from chiefs, politicians, and media figures. Enoch Osei Kwadwo Hyiamang, the group’s leader, declared that these actions are part of a coordinated campaign to undermine the Asantehene’s authority and dignity.
“These attacks are not random; they are part of a deliberate strategy orchestrated by political elements aiming to tarnish the reputation of the Asante Kingdom,” Mr. Hyiamang stated.
The youth group made it clear that they expect a public apology from Media General, particularly Onua TV, for recent broadcasts they feel disrespected the Asantehene and his linguists. “We have given Onua TV an ultimatum to apologize to Otumfuo and his linguists. If they fail to comply, they will face our wrath,” he warned passionately.
In addition, the youth leader issued a stern warning to chiefs who have been complicit in these disrespectful acts, urging them to halt their actions immediately or prepare to confront the youth directly. “We are united and will not hesitate to defend the honor of our king and our kingdom,” Mr. Hyiamang stressed.
The Asanteman Youth pledged to fiercely protect the dignity of the Asantehene and vowed to take action against any future attempts to undermine the Asante Kingdom’s integrity. Their rallying cry resonates: respect is non-negotiable, and the time for action is now!
