Election violence is a major threat-risk that has affected social and economic stability of nations across the globe, especially West African Nations.

As election 2024 beckons, it’s important for election stakeholders in Ghana to take individual, and collective responsibilities, more seriously.

Participatory activities of the Media, Civil Society Organisations, and law enforcement officers to detect the early warning signs of election violence, red flags, and to identify the silent threats to national peace will be the best way to go.

Any meaningful processes to monitor and manage excesses that characterises the activities of public commentators, particularly, public pronouncements of frontline politicians, will be a laudable strategy to embrace.

Let’s act responsibly to protect and safeguard Ghana’s democracy.

Richard Kumadoe.
