Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen, a former deputy general secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has reaffirmed that certain academics, intellectuals, and leaders in Africa have let their people down.

“By principle, I am saying that If elections were conducted today to bring back colonial masters, 99.9% of Africans would vote for their colonial masters to come back to govern them. This is as a result of academicians, leaders, and thinkers in Africa failing their people,” he emphasized.

During an interview on Time FM 97.7MHz’s Ama Ghana Morning Show, he stated that if a ship headed for America stopped in Ghana to pick up slaves, it would be completely occupied.

“Ghana now, West Africa now, Africa now, if you like, bring a ship and ask for slaves to go and weed America, the ship would be full this is because of frustrations and despondency.
