Soaring Air Pollution: Wear Nose Masks – Ghana Meteo Agency Warns Ghanaians 1 min read
In an urgent call to action, the Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has advised citizens to wear nose masks due to a severe escalation in air pollution across the nation. This directive comes amidst warnings that Ghana has been identified as the most polluted country according to the Air Quality Index.
Senior Meteorologist at the Kumasi District Meteorological Office, Kwame Ofori – Agyemang pointed out the noticeable settling of dust on various surfaces, including cars and buildings.
He suggested that the dust, which originates from the ground, could potentially carry pathogens, parasites, or disease-causing agents. Therefore, the recommendation to wear protective nose gear has been proposed as a precautionary measure to prevent the contraction of diseases from the prevalent dusty conditions.
