Lawyer Clement Opoku Gyamfi, the Amansie South District Chief Executive (DCE) together with a philanthropist and Community leaders of Taabosere on Tuesday commissioned a Community Based Health Planning and Services Compound (CHPS) facility as well as a Nurses Quarters.

The CHPS Compound is expected to serve about one thousand persons from the Taabosere Community and other adjoining towns.

Addressing the chiefs and people of the town, Lawyer Gyamfi said the two projects were constructed to attend to the health needs of the people in Taabosere.

“Both the CHPS compound and the nurses quarters are two projects that would serve the needs of the people as well as nurses posted here to work and I am grateful to both the CEO of Brightway Mining Enterprise for financing the CHPS Compound and the chiefs of Amansie and Taabosere for releasing stool lands for the nurses quarters and other projects”, the DCE stated.

Details:
Lawyer Gyamfi noted that the CHPS compound would serve as the primary point of care for residents in the provision of basic health services including maternal care, and other critical health needs.

He stated that the facility will significantly reduce the challenges residents face in accessing healthcare.

“This facility will not only ease the burden of traveling long distances for healthcare but will also contribute to improving the overall health outcomes”, the DCE intimated.

Lawyer Gyamfi urged the community to adopt a strong maintenance culture to ensure that the facility remains operational to serve future generations.

Background:
The three-bedroom Nurses Quarters was funded through revenues from the District’s Stool Lands.

The facility will provide much-needed accommodation for healthcare workers assigned to the CHPS compound.

The initiative is expected to attract and retain healthcare professionals in the area, further bolstering the delivery of essential health services.

Administrator Of Stool Lands:
Mr Franklin Oppong Obiri, the Administrator of Stool Lands, lauded the Amansie South District Assembly for effectively utilizing its share of stool land revenues.

He emphasized the importance of channeling such funds into projects that directly impact the well-being of residents.

Chiefs:
The Taabosere Chiefs commended the DCE and the MP for the projects.

They also thanked the Stool Lands Administrator as well as the CEO of Brightway Mining Company for showing commitment to the project.

Additional Information:
To ensure the smooth operation of the new healthcare facility, the District Health Directorate has been provided with seed capital to procure essential drugs and medical supplies.

This initial investment will enable the CHPS compound to start delivering services immediately, offering a lifeline to residents who previously had limited access to healthcare.
