Celebrated Ghanaian gospel music group, Tagoe Sisters, will this year celebrate their 40th anniversary in the gospel music industry with a series of live musical concerts in Accra and Kumasi in September and October.

The gospel musicians announced this at a press launch held at the Silicon Production House in Accra on April 13, 2023.The launch was chaired by Madam Joyce Aryee.

The launch was graced by a number of celebrities which include Rev. Yawson, Cindy Thompson, Ophelia Nyantakyi, Mary Ghansah, Perez Music, Piesie Esther and a host of others.

Dubbed ‘Tagoe Sisters @40’, the first concert will be held on September 23, 2023 at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).

Followed byfundraising and 40th anniversary dinner night on September 30 at Kempinski Hotel.

The same activities will also be held in the Ashanti Region, with a concert on October 2, 2023, and a fundraising dinner on October 23, 2023.

Tagoe Sisters together with their management team are expected to pay a courtesy call on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, former Presidents, John Dramani Mahama and John Agyekum Kufuor, the Chairman of the Council of State, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, among others to interact and personally invite them to grace both occasions.

They will make donations to some selected orphanage homes in Accra and Kumasi as part of their social responsibilities.

Known in real life as Lydia Dedei Yawson, nee Tagoe, and Elizabeth KorkoiTagoe, the twins have been singing in the gospel music industry since 1983 under the brand name Tagoe Sisters.

They are well known for hit songs such as ‘YediNkunim’, ‘Fa Bibiara Mano’, ‘MenyaYesu’, ‘Akamafo Jesus’, ‘Orekyikye’, and many others.
