Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen, a historian, and a private legal practicioner has unveiled the source of the Ashanti people’s power.
Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen asserts that the Ashanti are historically strongest when their kings are named Osei Tutu or Opoku Ware.
In an interview, Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen explained that the Asantes face difficulties when ruled by kings ruled by a King who is not called Osei Tutu or Opoku Ware.
He warned that if the successor to the current King, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, does not bear the name Osei Tutu or Opoku Ware, it could take 150-200 years for the Asantes to regain their power.
Additionally, he dismissed claims by historian Lawyer Anokye Frimpong that all Akans originated from Bono.
He called these assertions by Lawyer Anokye Frimpong as false and advising him to seek accurate historical knowledge.
“If you don’t know history, keep quiet and come to us and let us teach you,” he said to Lawyer Anokye Frimpong.
