Traders From 38 Communities in Ahafo-Ano South-West Rally Support For Frema Opare As Running Mate.2 min read
Market women as well as other traders from thirty eight (38) Communities in the Ahafo Ano South West Constituency in the Ashanti Region are asking leaders in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to impress upon the flag-bearer of the NPP to choose Madam Akosua Frema Osei Opare as the party’s running mate in the upcoming presidential election.
Addressing the media at the Kunsu market on Friday, Elvis Ofosu Kwarteng, spokesperson for the traders from the 38 Communities including Tepa, Domeabra, Abuakwa, Bomaa, Mpasaaso and others said they were confident that the candidature of Madam Frema would do wonders for the party in the December 7 polls.
He noted that the traders and market women were aware of the contribution of the Chief of Staff to the welfare and wellbeing of the Ghanaian people.
“We may be at Kunsu but we are aware of the good works including the benevolent activities of Madam Frema Osei Opare towards market women, the youth and children of Ghana and so we are sure that with such a character as running mate to Dr Bawumia we are sure to galvanise massive support for the NPP in the December 7 polls”, Mr Kwarteng stated.
Community Dynamics:
The spokesperson said the Ahafo-Ano South West Community boasts of both indigenes who are Ashantis but added that many were also settler farmers with diverse backgrounds.
This, he noted, makes it important that the NPP gets someone who can be appealing to the voting public.
Mr Kwarteng said what most persons in the 38 Communities are looking for is
someone who could best show
concern for their living conditions and work to support them.
“With the diverse backgrounds of people in this Ahafo-Ano South-West it is important that the NPP selects a running mate who could best appeal to the people and attract their votes to the NPP fold and for us Madam Frema Osei Opare is ideal for us”, the spokesperson stressed.
Appeal:
The spokesperson said the Kunsu market lies in ruins despite the NPP government constructing some sheds and stalls for them.
The floor of the market and the main arena, the spokesperson said get flooded anytime it rained heavily.
However, with what they have been seeing at the Bantama, Kejetia and Race Course, the spokesperson stated that they are confident Madam Frema Opare is the best to help them out as she has done in the aforementioned markets.
“The NPP government helped to put up this market but there are no public utility services or places of convenience, however, we believe the selection of Madam Frema Opare would enable her to advance support to us and other markets across Ghana 🇬🇠“, the communities spokesperson posited.
