Valley View University Annual Thanksgiving, Prayer Session, and Launch of Educational Endowment Fund2 min read
Valley View University (VVU) has held her Annual Thanksgiving, Prayer Session, and Launched an Educational Endowment Fund in Kumasi. This event brought together the university community, alumni, students, staff, faculty, and friends to express gratitude, seek divine guidance, and protection for the upcoming year. Again, an Educational Endowment was launched, and funds were raised for deserving but financially challenged students.
The Annual Thanksgiving and Prayer Session was held on 9th December, 2023, at Bomso SDA Church premises. It was a day of reflection, expressing gratitude for the achievements attained, recognition of the university’s growth, and thanksgiving for the opportunities provided to students. It also served as a time of prayer for the collective aspirations and desires of the Valley View University community. The university believes in the power of thanksgiving and prayer to foster unity and create a sense of purpose among its members.
The Rector of the University, Prof. Winfred Ofoe Larkotey presented the situational report on the University, telling the congregation where it started, the current situation, and where the institution intends to be in the future.
Simultaneously, the launched Educational Endowment Fund, which aims to support brilliant yet needy students pursuing higher education, is purposed to ensure that deserving students have access to quality education, irrespective of their financial circumstances. It will provide financial aid in the form of scholarships, grants, and other assistance programs to support the educational journey of these students.
The launch of the Educational Endowment Fund is to give an opportunity for individuals, organizations, and philanthropists to contribute towards the advancement of education and the empowerment of deserving students.
Valley View University believes that through the collective support and generosity of its community, it can make a significant impact on the lives and futures of brilliant young individuals who lack financial means. The funds will be managed by The Northern Ghana Union Conference of the Seventh÷day Adventist Church.
