But for the timely intervention of the Police, Inspector Ahmed Twumasi, the alleged killer of Victoria Dapaah aka Maadwoa would have been stoned to death by furious relatives and friends at the Asokore Mampong District court today.

The action comes after Inspector Twumasi pleaded not guilty to the charge of murder during the committal proceeding at the court Tuesday, 20/06/2023. He refused to answer further questions without his lawyer.

The State prosecutor produced evidence, including the pistol allegedly used in the crime and CCTV footage capturing the scene, as part of the committal process, outlining Twumasi’s alleged involvement in the crime.

The case has however been transferred to the Kumasi High Court where Inspector Twumasi will stand full trial.

Inspector Twumasi has been remanded and will reappear before the High Court on 13th July 2023.

Meanwhile, Maadwoa will be laid to rest on Saturday, 24th June, 2023.
