(VIDEO) Delegate System Is The Cause Of Monecracy In Politics – Dr Amakye Boateng1 min read
Political Science Lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University Of Science and Technology (KNUST), Dr Amakye Boateng has expressed his view on the monetisation of electoral politics which has become an emerging threat to Ghana’s democracy.
According to Dr Amakye Boateng, monecracy in Ghana’s politics has become unbearable. He said monecracy has become the bane of Ghana’s development.
In an interview on the Ama Ghana Morning Show on Time FM, he said due to the sums of money some aspirants pay to delegates for votes they think about their interests when they win the election emphasizing that monecracy in politics has the potential to breed corruption.
He stressed that the delegate system of Ghana has been corrupted and has led to the monecracy in politics.
Dr Amakye Boateng told Nana Kwabena Ampratwum that it is time to scrutinize aspirants to know their leadership qualities.
