A Criminologist and Lecturer at the Department of Sociology and Social Work of KNUST, Dr Jones Opoku Ware has emphatically said economic challenges can lead someone to commit suicide.
According to him, when people are in difficulties, family members ignore them adding that this can lead them to commit suicide.
Dr Opoku Ware continue that, the social structure is not helping because you cannot share your problems with anyone.
He spoke with Kwame Koranteng on the topic: “Suicide Cases Surge With 1,500 Reported Annually -The Youth Factor” on the Ama Ghana Morning Show on Kumasi based Time FM on Monday, September 18,2023.
