Adam Bonaa, a Security Connoisseur has applauded the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for engaging the feuding factions to find a lasting solution to the prolong conflict in Bawku.
The Kusasi and Mamprusi ethnic groups in Bawku have engaged in conflict that has become intractable and permeated the whole life span of the people, thereby impeding growth and development in the area.
Sources revealed that the claims to chieftaincy title have been the fundamental root cause that explains why the ethnic groups are locked up in the conflict. Other factors relate to the proliferation of weapons, armed robbery and illiteracy including cessations of farmlands.
According to Dr. Adam Bonaa some faction will be adamant to Otumfuo’s intervention but cannot defy his order.
Appearing on Ama Ghana Morning Show on Monday, 3rd July, 2023, he urged Otumfuo to keep on the peace building process to help Bawku return to peace..
Dr. Bonaa lamented that some politicians ought to add their voice to the impasse but have failed to do so.
“The Bawku conflict is complex and sensitive. Comparing it to the conflict becomes difficult,” he told the host, Kwame Koranteng.
“There is a glimour of hope. If we do the needful it will help us.”
