VIDEO: Set Cut-Off Point For Free SHS – Educationist To Gov’t1 min read
Educationist Daniel Oppong has praised the government for introducing the free Senior High School policy.
But according to him, the government should set a cut-off point for the laudable policy.
Since the Free SHS was introduced the government has resorted to the use of raw scores for placing candidates in respective Senior High Schools across the country after every BECE.
Speaking on Time FM News with Abrewa Nana Apesemaka, he said the introduction of a cut-off point will propel the students to learn and necessitate competition among them.
Mr Oppong suggested that the students who do not get the required aggregate should pay school fees.
“To fail BECE and still benefit from the free SHS is alarming. The students who get an aggregate of 6 -12 should enjoy everything free under the policy.
