The Paramount Chief of the Goaso Traditional Area in the Ahafo region, Nana Akwasi Bosompra I, has asked the Electoral Commission to consider extending the upcoming limited voter’s registration exercise to other areas apart from the district offices.
But Nana Akwasi Bosompra I quickly said if the Chairperson for the Commission, Jean Mensa refuses to adhere to his plea, she should remember there will be a change of government one day.
Speaking on Time FM 97.7Mhz Ama Ghana Morning Show in Kumasi on Friday 1st September, 2023, he stressed that if there is a change of government Chiefs will not be affected.
The Goasomanhene said if the exercise is decentralized to the villages, it will help get competent Parliamentary candidates for the 2024 general elections.
