“We Will Bring Back Our structures If We Don’t See Any Sign Of Interchange Construction- Spare Parts Dealers Affected By Decongestion Exercise1 min read
Some aggrieved spare parts dealers at Suame a suburb in Kumasi have been affected by the decongestion exercise that is to pave way for the construction of the 4-tier interchange have vowed to return.
According to the spare parts dealers, they support development but after the decongestion exercise if they don’t see any signs of the construction of the interchange, they will bring back their structures.
In an exclusive interview with mytimefm.com, they said “If you have ejected us we expect you to construct the interchange.”
They cried that the city authorities came to record their particulars and promised to compensate them but the promise was a fluke.
According to them, a decongestion exercise occurred during the tenure of former President John Agyekum Kufour but there was no road construction.
Background President Akufo-Addo in October 2022 cut the sod for construction works to begin on the much anticipated Suame Interchange project in Kumasi.
The 4-tier interchange project, to be constructed in two phases within 30 months, will include five overpasses at Krofrom, Abrepo, Anomange, and Magazine New Road as well as Abusuakruwa Junctions.
