Bernard Antwi Boasiako, known as Wontumi and the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has accused NDC flagbearer John Mahama of being desperate to reclaim the presidency in order to abolish the Free Senior High School (SHS) initiative.

Speaking at the grand finale of the Bantama Constituency’s Big Walk, aimed at rallying the party’s supporters in the Ashanti Region, Wontumi highlighted that the NPP, under former President John Agyekum Kufuor, initiated free maternal healthcare that benefitted all Ghanaian women.

He criticized Ghanaians for being misled by the NDC, which halted these essential policies during Mahama’s eight years in office, claiming this reflects Mahama’s true intentions for the upcoming 2024 election.
