Workers of the Ridge Passport Headquarters in Accra have commended the Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister, Hon. Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong for sacking the ‘goro boys’ at the passport office.

According to the workers, the ‘goro boys’ disrespect and invade their office space without any invitation all in the name of the ruling party, NPP.

On Monday, 15th July, 2024, Hon. Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong witnessed a spectacle in which 3 ‘goro boys’ were seen frequenting the offices at the passport office.

The Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister not satisfied with their presence at the security zone, sacked them from the premises.

The unprecedented action has motivated the workers of the Ridge passport office to shower praises on Hon. Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong for his boldness to sack the ‘goro boys’.

The staff emphasized that these ‘untouchable goro boys’ have been terrorizing them with impunity and sometimes impeding their (workers) official responsibilities.

The workers gave a word of advise to politicians to learn from the bold Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister for sacking the ‘goro boys’ from the premises.

“We are at this juncture advising politicians to know that the Passport Office is not just a public place but a security zone which cannot be downplayed. We want politicians to be bold like Hon. Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong to deal with ‘goro boys’ when their party is in power,” they said.

The workers were quick to add that because these ‘goro boys’ are known NPP members, the National Security operatives do not dare to walk them away.

Some Ghanaians who had come to claim their passports witnessed the disciplinary actions of the Deputy Foreign Minister and were full of praise for him.

They are, therefore, calling on the general public to as a matter of urgency, disregard media reports that Hon. Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong insulted the 3 ‘goro boys’ with unprintable words.

“The Minister did well by sacking them and he deserves to be praised to encourage him to do more,” they stressed.

The 3 “goro boys” were Kwasi Korang, Nana Poku and one other.

As humiliated as they felt, the 3 blatantly concocted the story to the media to soil the perfect image of the Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister.
