Black Stars Maintain Position In World Rankings<span class="wtr-time-wrap after-title"><span class="wtr-time-number">1</span> min read</span>
As per the latest FIFA men’s world rankings released on Thursday, July 20, Ghana’s Black Stars have held on to their 59th position. The lack of movement can be attributed to their single match in June, which ended in a 0-0 draw against Madagascar.

Under the leadership of head coach Chris Hughton, the Black Stars have shown great promise, remaining unbeaten with a victory against Angola in Kumasi and two draws.

These results have positioned Ghana well in their quest to qualify for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

Globally, there have been no changes in the top 10, which remains dominated by European and South American teams. World Champions Argentina continue to lead the rankings, followed by France in second and Brazil in third. England, Belgium, and Croatia secure the next spots in fourth, fifth, and sixth place, respectively.

In Africa, Morocco maintain their status as the top-ranked team (13th globally), with Senegal in 18th place, Tunisia in 31st, Algeria in 33rd, and Egypt in 34th position. Nigeria, Cameroon, and Ivory Coast complete the top ten in Africa, ranking 39th, 42nd, and 52nd, respectively.
