Akosombo Dam Spillage: Gov’t Has Put In Measures To Address Sad State – DCE<span class="wtr-time-wrap after-title"><span class="wtr-time-number">1</span> min read</span>

The District Chief Executive (DCE), North Tongu, Hon. Divine Osborne Fenu has assured the affected communities of the Akosombo dam spillage to remain calm since plans are underway to curb the current situation.

Hon. Divine Fenu said 60 communities have been affected so far.

He said on the Ama Ghana Morning Show on Time FM 97.7 Mhz that temporal structures are being built for the affected residents.

The District Chief Executive expressed the hope that there will be light at the end of the tunnel by end of October 2023.

At least, 26,000 people have been displaced along the lower Volta Basin as of the last count Tuesday as officials continue to take stock of the extent of havoc and devastation caused by the spillage of the Akosombo and Kpong dams.
