Veteran Journalist Ken Kuranchie Accuses NPP of Disregarding Rule of Law as He Runs as Independent Candidate in Okaikwei North1 min read
Ken Kuranchie, Managing Editor of the Daily Searchlight newspaper, has boldly declared his bid to represent Okaikwei North Constituency as an independent candidate, citing the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) failure to acknowledge his dedication and contributions despite his deep roots in the area.
In an interview on the Ama Ghana Morning Show on Time FM on Monday, April 8, 2024, Kuranchie expressed frustration at the NPP’s decision to select an outsider over him, despite his extensive knowledge of the constituency’s issues.
He criticized the NPP, stating that despite boasting legal practitioners among its ranks, the party does not adhere to the principles of lawfulness.
The seasoned journalist emphasized the importance of investing in human capital within the constituency for national progress, highlighting the role of education in driving innovation, job creation, and economic development.
However, Kuranchie noted a lack of initiatives aimed at improving the living standards of the constituency’s residents over the years, signaling his motivation to contest as an independent candidate to address these neglected issues.
