Hon. Akwesi Osei-Adjei, a former Foreign Affairs Minister and Member of Parliament for the Ashanti Region’s Ejisu-Juaben Constituency, has praised President Akufo-Addo’s suggestion that Ghana withdraws at least 30% of all public funds and other assets held in foreign banks and financial institutions.

Nana Addo was speaking at the Presidential Dialogue on African Union Financial Institutions, which was held on the sidelines of the 37th African Union summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Ghana’s foreign reserves are presently lodged in two bank accounts, one each in New York and London, according to Hon. Akwesi Osei-Adjei.

Contributing to the topic on Time FM’s Ama Ghana Morning Show with Nana Kwabena Ampratwum, he stated that the time has come to keep the foreign reserves at the Bank of Ghana.
