Ameenu Shardow: Anas Exposé Impacting Ghana Football, Cracks Still Present<span class="wtr-time-wrap after-title"><span class="wtr-time-number">2</span> min read</span>
Black Stars team manager Ameenu Shardow says the Number 12 expose by Anas Aremeyaw Anas still has an effect on Ghana Football after five years of its release.

The documentary which was aired in 2018 revealed several anomalies in Ghana football including corrupt activities which eventually saw Kwesi Nyantakyi removed as GFA president as well as the association dissolved.

The reconstitution of the association saw Kurt Okraku take over as president in 2019 and though his administration has recorded some successes including qualifying Ghana for the World Cup, many believe Ghana football is still on a decline.

Ameenu Shardow, however, believes the current administration is doing its best but the ravaging effects of the expose have made it difficult to overcome some obstacles.

According to the Dreams FC General Manager, the GFA hasn’t been very smooth in their operations because they met big ‘cracks’ that need time to be covered.

“I use to say all the time to people especially when the Anas expose happened. That these things are obviously going to have an effect on our football. At that point in time, it wasn’t seen but we are seeing it now,” he said to 3Sports on Sports Ultras.

“It’s not possible to stop playing organised football for close to two years. And then when you resume you expect everything to be smooth sailing. It never happens.

“Even in times when no scandal had hit the sport, we were struggling to make it to the national team. How much more when organised football was stopped for close to two years? It was bound to have an effect but somehow when we came back we managed to qualify for the World Cup and I think it papered off the cracks but the cracks are still there. It will expose you,” he added
