aYo Family Cover: 8.2 Million Ghanaians Sign Up For Affordable Insurance Package – CEO<span class="wtr-time-wrap after-title"><span class="wtr-time-number">1</span> min read</span>

The Kumasi edition of aYo Family Cover product, a subsidiary of the MTN Group has been launched.

The product allows the policyholders to insure themselves and six additional family members.


The cover allows customers to insure members between the ages of 1 and 69 on life and hospital cover.

The aYo Family Cover product will collect all premiums digitally via the MTN Mobile Money (MoMo) platform.

Speaking at the colourful ceremony held at the Kejetia Central Market on Tuesday, the Chief Executive Officer for aYo Ghana, Francis Gota revealed that 8.2 million Ghanaians have signed up for the aYo Family Cover product.

According to Mr Gota, MTN has the life of its customers at heart hence the introduction of the aYo Family Cover policy.

“Insurance is very important. It can save you in times of difficulty,” he said.

He indicated that aYo customers will be charged Ghc15 every month from their MoMo and benefit from Ghc 15,000 life cover plus Ghc300 per night hospitalization cover for the policyholder and other dependents.

The CEO announced that MTN customers can dial *296# and sign up for the aYo Family Cover.

Sanlem Life Insurance

The Manager in Charge of Strategies and Projects for Sanlem Life Insurance, Mr Emmanuel Gyem said their partnership with MTN Ghana to introduce the aYo Family Cover has been successful.

According to Mr Gyem, 40,000 customers have benefitted from the product.

He said Sanlem Life Insurance has paid Ghc14 million in the form of a claim by customers.
