Man Kills Landlord At Bia West2 min read
The deceased landlord, Kwasi Antoh, 60, who is also a farmer, was allegedly beheaded by the suspect.
The unfortunate incident happened yesterday morning and threw the entire community into a state of shock.
The assemblyman for Nafana Electoral Area, Augustine Bediako, confirmed the story in an interview and said the deceased was a farmer while the suspect, Yaw Wotoro, was the farm keeper and a tenant at the house of Kwasi Antoh.
According to him, Kwasi Antoh and the suspect visited his farm yesterday, and the deceased was not happy about the state of the farm.
The deceased then complained about the fact that the weeds on the farm were not cleared, no pruning or other farming cultural practices were being carried out by the farm keeper.
The complaints did not go down well with the farm keeper, who was furious about the pronouncements and the actions of his landlord.
The assembly man said the suspect once alleged that his landlord was having an amorous relationship with his 19-year-old daughter in the village.
“So out of anger and frustration, Yaw Wotoro took a cutlass and cut off the head of his landlord at the back of the deceased’s house, and the suspect took to his heels,” the assembly disclosed.
He said, however, the residents of the community mounted a search and later found the suspect, apprehended him and handed him over to the police.
The suspect was later admitted at the Sefwi Essam Government Hospital for medical attention, after taking what was suspected to be a poisonous substance shortly after committing the crime.
Meanwhile, the police are at the hospital to provide the suspect with the requisite security needed for his safety and to face prosecution later.
