MTN Announces Special “30 Days of Y’ello Care” Program1 min read
In honor of its 30th anniversary, MTN Ghana has expanded its annual employee volunteer program, “21 Days of Y’ello Care,” to a month-long initiative called “30 Days of Y’ello Care.”
MTN General Manager, Northern Sector, Nii Adortey Mingle made the announcement in Kumasi.
Focus on Education:
He said this year’s theme, “Education For Rural And Remote Communities – Learn Today, Lead Tomorrow”, is to bridge the educational gap in underserved communities across MTN’s operations.
Nii Adortey Mingle revealed that MTN Ghana Volunteers will drill 30 boreholes in 30 Senior Secondary Schools in a project dubbed, ‘Quench and Connect’ for its main campaign.
The boreholes, he explained, will be drilled in selected schools across the 16 regions of Ghana which are facing water crises.
‘We hope that providing these boreholes will alleviate the burden on the beneficiary schools and allow students to focus on their studies,’ he assured.
Leveraging Technology for Change:
He said the program aims to provide essential digital learning resources, reliable internet access, and engaging educational platforms to students and educators.
Empowering the Next Generation:
The Northern Sector General Manager reiterated that MTN recognizes the transformative power of education and hopes to equip young people with the tools they need to reach their full potential.
Nii Adortey Mingle highlighted their commitment to fostering the next generation of leaders and innovators.
Month-Long Impact:
Nii Adortey Mingle noted that the program will run from June 1st to June 30th, 2024.
Thousands of MTN employees will participate in activities designed to make a lasting difference in educational access and quality.
