Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the ruling NPP’s Presidential Candidate, has reaffirmed his rejection of LGBTQ+ rights, declaring he won’t support it if elected in the upcoming December 7 elections.

This assertion was made during his visit to the Sefwi Akontombra Chief’s palace in the Western North Region.

As part of his regional tour, Dr. Bawumia addressed traditional leaders, clergy, and the Muslim community, emphasizing that both Christian and Muslim values oppose LGBTQ+ acceptance. He also promised to enhance the Cocoa Rehabilitation Centre into a Cocoa Research Institute to support local farmers.

Highlighting the NPP government’s various initiatives—including Free SHS, the Ghana Card, and free laptops for students—Dr. Bawumia urged voters to choose him over former President Mahama, positioning himself as a candidate with fresh ideas and policies.

Additionally, he pledged to strengthen ties with traditional authorities and ensure that paramount chiefs and queen mothers receive monthly salaries.

Chief Nana Kwabena Ebi II praised Dr. Bawumia and the NPP administration for their development projects, requesting the appointment of the local MP, Hon.

Alexander Djornobuah Tetteh, as a cabinet minister if Bawumia wins. The Vice President promised to upgrade the town park to AstroTurf, responding positively to community requests.

In a rally amid the rain, he encouraged constituents to vote for him and their MP to continue the progress initiated by President Akufo-Addo.

MP Tetteh urged the community to support Dr. Bawumia, citing his vision and dedication to Ghana.
