VIDEO: “Your Reason For Embarking On Strike Holds No Water” – Simon Osei-Mensah Fires KATH Doctors 1 min read
A section of Doctors at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) have raised the alarm to put down their instruments on March 13 in protest of a private developer’s forced removal from their bungalows at Danyame in Kumasi.
The decision was met with criticism from the Ashanti Regional Minister Hon. Simon Osei-Mensah, who said that the doctors’ justification for going on a strike was unfounded and that they ought to have an alternative explanation.
He claimed that the Regional Coordinating Council had spoken with the leaders of the various institutions about the ejection and that he could not understand the doctors’ decision to go on strike in an interview on the Ama Ghana Morning Show on Time FM 97.7MHz.
If the doctors are politicizing the matter, Hon. Osei-Mensah reprimanded them, saying they ought to make it public.

The Chairman of the KATH Doctors Association, Dr. Michael Leat, told Nana Kwabena Ampratwum that the doctors had not threatened to go on strike in response to the remarks made by the Hon. Osei-Mensah.
According to Dr. Leat, the doctors will meet today to decide how to respond to the strike action.
He declared that they would not reach an imprudent decision.
Dr Leat dared the Regional Minister to show them the area he has relocated them to.
