The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Deputy Director of Legal Affairs, Lawyer Enock Anhwere Afoakwa, has expressed confidence that the party will win the upcoming general elections, urging supporters to “wear white” in anticipation of victory.
Speaking on Time Morning Show with Kwame Marfo, Lawyer Afoakwa said his optimism is based on his own assessment of electoral data.
He also criticized the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), arguing that its job creation promises have not addressed youth unemployment.
On local development, Lawyer Afoakwa questioned the Obuasi Municipal Assembly’s decision to demolish an existing market for a proposed 24-hour market, arguing that limited public funds should prioritize projects that directly improve residents’ welfare.
He further raised concerns about student welfare at Akrokerri College of Education, alleging challenges of access to adequate food and concerns about post-graduation employment prospects. He therefore called on the relevant authorities to intervene.
Lawyer Afoakwa concluded by calling on all stakeholders in Obuasi including the MPs, the Municipal Chief Executives, Assembly Members, and community leaders to collaborate to improve roads, transport management, and other critical infrastructure to improve the betterment of Obuasi.
