Africa Is Poor Because We Have Failed To Emulate Atta Mills – P.L.O Lumumba1 min read
Former Director of the Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission, Professor Patrick Loch Otieno Lumumba says the Africa Continent is poor because the leaders have failed to emulate Late former President John Evans Atta Mills.
P.L.O Lumumba stated that Atta Mills was the shortest-serving Ghanaian President but served well.
Speaking as the guest of honor for the 10th commemorative lecture of the late President at KNUST he noted that some heads of state have refused to leave office and have made Africans poorer.
The anti-corruption crusader said many Africans are infamous because individuals who occupy public positions’ greatest claim to fame are dishonest, arrogant and thievery.
“We are celebrating Atta Mills because he reminds us that it is not how long you serve but how well you serve,” he revealed.
“So the fast message we are sending to the African Leaders is that the longevity in the office doesn’t make one great but the quality of service.”
P.L.O Lumumba punched that the Atta Mills Lectures is delivered at the time the African Continent is at crossroads, the time Africans are under obligations to ask themselves an uncountable number of questions.
He continued that it is delivered at the time, Political Leadership is synonymous with dishonesty.
