The Second National Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, has criticised President John Dramani Mahama and the CID boss of the Ghana Police Service over what he describes as their silence on the alleged sexual abuse case involving the Headmaster of Obuasi Senior High Technical School.
Speaking during a demonstration organised by the New Patriotic Party in Obuasi, Nana B questioned why President Mahama had not publicly commented on the matter, alleging that the President’s silence was influenced by the accused headmaster’s association with the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC). He argued that the allegations involving several female students required strong leadership and a clear public response from the President.
The NPP Vice Chairman also criticised the CID boss, expressing concern over what he described as a lack of visible progress in the investigations. He questioned the pace of the case and called on the security agencies to ensure justice is served without fear or favour.
Nana B maintained that the safety of students should rise above political considerations and urged state institutions to act transparently and decisively to restore public confidence.
The allegations against the Obuasi SecTech headmaster, Zakaria Abdulai, remain under investigation. The Ghana Education Service has interdicted the headmaster pending the outcome of investigations, while the case has been transferred to the Police Headquarters in Accra for further investigations and legal advice. Authorities have indicated that investigations are ongoing, and no court has determined the guilt or innocence of the accused.
