Let’s Unite For Our Development—–Akpinifia Dagadu IX<span class="wtr-time-wrap after-title"><span class="wtr-time-number">2</span> min read</span>

Okpekpewuokpe Togbui Dagadu IX, Akpinifia, says the time has come for Traditional Authorities in the Volta region to unite and rally their people for development.

The Paramount Chief for the Akpini Traditional Area, Kpando, who was speaking as Chairman of the Sabiawo Festival of the Chiefs and People of Dzolo Kpuita in the Volta region, in his remarks encouraged the people to take a communal approach to development and not necessarily wait for government or any other entity.

“In the face of economic hardship everywhere, it will not be in our interest to sit with our tails between our legs and wait, but rather, let’s try to rally communally and do things for ourselves” he stressed.

Togbui Dagadu IX also assured the youth that each person had a role to play in the development of the community and called on each person to contribute his or her quota to the progress of the community’s agenda.

He assured the people of Dzolo Kpuita of a strong mutually beneficial relationship that engenders growth.

The people of the community used the opportunity to appreciate some of their industrious sons and daughters.

The youth also eulogized the chief of Dzolo Kpuita; Togbe Fiado VI for his contributions to the success of the festival and the overall development of the area.

Background:
The Sabiawo festival is a youth festival celebrated annually by the people of Dzolo Kpuita.

This year’s celebration, held on Saturday 12th August, 2023, was on the theme; “The role of citizens in community development” and aimed at raising funds for a community water project.

Also present at the celebration were chiefs from Tanyigbe and Aflao as well as the District Chief Executive; Hon. Ernest Appau and representatives of the Member of Parliament; Hon. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah.
