Today, on Saturday, April 13, 2024, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will conduct its parliamentary primary in the Ejisu Constituency, aiming to select a candidate for the upcoming by-election.

Following the unfortunate passing of MP John Kumah on March 7, 2024, the party moves forward with the crucial process of choosing a new representative.

Nine aspirants, all cleared by the vetting committee on April 6, are vying for the opportunity to stand as the NPP’s candidate in the Ejisu Constituency.

Since the opening of nominations on April 2, 2024, these nine individuals have actively campaigned, demonstrating their readiness to lead.

Scheduled for April 30, 2024, by the Electoral Commission, the by-election marks a significant event in Ejisu’s political landscape, following the void left by the 45-year-old MP’s untimely demise, leaving behind a bereaved family.

As of now, no other political party has officially declared its participation in the by-election. While the National Democratic Congress is contemplating its involvement, the focus remains on the NPP’s primary today.
